Windfarm construction underway – Maritime Journal

Construction has begun on the new Luchterduinen windfarm, a joint venture between the energy company Eneco and Japan’s Mitsubishi Corporation.

The main contractor for the development of the onshore cable is Joulz, part of the Eneco Group, and drilling related to the development is being carried out by Visser & Smit Hanab.

Electricity will be transported to the shore by means of a 23km long 150kV cable embedded in the seafloor. The 8km onshore section will run from the beach at Noordwijk to a substation in Sassenheim and then be fed into the national grid.
