Nigeria: Dutch Navy Seeks Partnership With Nigeria – allAfrica.com

Lagos — The Netherlands government has expressed concern over the increasing rate of insecurity at the Gulf of Guinea.

Towards this end it expressed the readiness of its navy to partner with its Nigerian counterpart to ensure that adequate maritime security is provided within the Gulf of Guinea in other to encourage maritime trade.

The Director of Trade and Industry Support of the Kingdom of Netherland Rear Admiral B. Bekering said this while leading a team of officers from the visiting HNLMS Rotterdam to the Western Naval Command Headquarters in Lagos.

He said that the desire of the navy is to ensure that there is free flow of trade by providing proper security at sea and coastal waters.
